ACHIEVEMENTS
- 1. Distribution of 80 kg Amla fruit, from the school herbal garden to the community, school students and staff to spread the message of celebrating Green Diwali- Safe Diwali, during the celebration of anti cracker campaign week.
- 2. Arranged scholarship for ten students of 9th class, worth rupees fifty thousand,(Rs. 5000/- each), with the help of Bharat Prakash Foundation, Chandigarh
- 3. Contributed in ration and stationary distribution in the containment zone during covid-19 with the help of NSS volunteers and teachers.
- 4. Book bank program is being run in the school , arranged story and work books from ex-students and other members of the community.
- 5. Distribution of herbal plants, on various occasions to the guests, parents, teachers and other staff members.
- 6. National Girl Child Day was observed at GMSSS-37-B, carrying out the following activities.
- a. Poster making activity on the topic ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’.
- b. Tree Plantation Campaign was organized for girl students, on National Girl Child Day.
- c. A notice board was also prepared to sensitize the students to importance of women empowerment.
- d. A motivational lecture was delivered to the students on the role of women in nation building on the occasion of National Girl Child Day.
- 7. Akshay Urja Diwas was celebrated on 21st August 2020 by organizing online poster making competition on the topic Importance of Renewable Energy. One of our student Gursimran Singh of class 12th got first prize in the competition organized by Environment department Chandigarh.
- 8. Plantation drive organized in school from 1st TO 15th August 2020.Students planted saplings of herbal , floral plants and Shady trees at their homes . The principal and staff planted 50 saplings in the school campus in August 2020.
- 9. To Promote Aatam Nirbhar Bharat movement, the following activities were carried out by NSS volunteers of the school in offline mode. The following activities were carried out
- (i) Poster Making competition
- (ii) Essay Writing competition
- (iii) Poem Writing competition
- (iv) Face Painting competition
- Around 500 students participated in at Aatam Nirbhar Bharat.
- 10. On 29th August, 2020 the following activities for carried out on the theme Importance of Waste Segregation
- (i) Writing competition and best out of waste activity for classes 6th to 12th
- (ii) Best out of waste activity for primary section
- 11. Google meet was organized for the students on the theme Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat on 29th August, 2020 and again on 28/9/2020.Best entries of the competition were shared with NGO youth innovative society and with environment department. Our Student Ms. Kasak of 9th class got 3rd prize in best out of waste activity organized by environment department and youth innovative society. Divyanshi got a prize for filmmaking.
- 12. An online quiz competition on food and nutrition was organized at school level on 14th September, 2020 for classes 9th to 12th . Around 256 students participated in this event. Best ten entries were given certificates and prizes.
- 13. World Ozone day was celebrated between 16th to 18th September, 2020 for classes 8th to 12th by organizing online poster making competition. Our students also participated in film making competition on ozone day organized by environment department. Large number of entries by the students were registered for this competition.
- 14. My healthy plate competition was organized for primary section on 19th September 2020
- 15. Draw your Healthy plate activity for classes 3 to 5 and create your plate activity for classes 1& 2 was organized in September 2020.
- 16. A Plog Run was organized for students of Eco club in NSS on 3rd October during swachhata week.
- 17. Wildlife week was celebrated from 1st to 8th October by organising video making competitions on wildlife at school level. The best entries were shared with environment department, for a short film making competition. The school team got first prize in this activity.
- 18. Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat-Unity pledge was organized for students and staff on 31st October 2020
- 19. A Rangoli competition was organized on 11th November 2020 in school on the theme say no to crackers
- 20. Anti cracker campaign week was observed from 10th to 13th November. The following competition were organized for this campaigns:
- (i) An anti cracker pledge was administered to the schools students and staff on 10th November.
- (ii) Poster making competition online and offline modeorganized on 11th November.
- (iii) Poem writing competition was organized on 12th November 2020.
- (iv) Amlas from the school Garden were gifted to the Staff, Parents and students during Anti cracker campaign week to give a message of celebrating green Diwali and safe Diwali without crackers.
- 21. Students participated in inter school Best out of waste contest on 28th November, 2020 at Butterfly Park. One of our students Aditya Chauhan got a prize among best 5 entries in this competition.
- 22. National Constitution Day was observed in school on 26th November, 2020 by organizing activities such as revising Preamble, Fundamental Rights and Duties with students. Online poster making competition was also organized for the same.
- 23. Seven days NSS special camp was organized between 12th to 18th January 2021 in which more than hundred students participated.
- 24. Swachhata activities were carried out in school on 30th January 2021 by the NSS volunteers
- 25. National voters day was observed on 25 January 2021 by organising voters day pledge for students and staff. Poster making competition was also organized. A special meeting with BLO was also organized for schools electoral club.
- 26. Girl child day was celebrated in school campus by organizing a plantation drive and poster making competition on 24 January 2021
- 27. Prize Distribution Ceremony for NSS volunteers was organized on 18 February 2021. State liaison officer Shri Vikram Ranaji who was the chief guest applauded the efforts of NSS volunteers.
- 28. A puppet show on road safety with NGO yuvsatta was organized in school on 3rd March 2021.
- 29. Wildlife day was also celebrated on 3rd March
- 30. Rally on national Women’s Day was organized on 9th March 2021. Senior female teachers, talented girl students and senior female 4th class employees were honoured . A lecture on women empowerment by the eminent personality Mrs Neena Singh poem and speeches organized
- 31. Hamara Shaniwar activity was organized in school on 6th March 2021. Students of various classes made toys with clay, carried out best out of waste activity, and prepared plants for free distribution on various occasions. Painted single use plastic waste material to prepare pots and other useful items. The main motive of this Hamara Shaniwar activity was to create awareness among school children about the three R’s Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. 12thClass students prepared flower beds.
- 32. Prize distribution programme for NSS volunteers was organized on 19th March 2021.
- 33. Distribution of scholarship to ten students of 9th class by Bharat Prakash Foundation.
- 34. Amrut Bharat activities work carried out from 16th to 28th March 2021.
- 35. Poshana Abhiyan activities were carried out from 12th March to 30th March 2021.
- 36. Google meet was organized for students on the theme Fit India on 24th September.
OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS
- 1. School teacher Shri Ram Kumar Shrama TGT Social Science received CBSE Award-2020 under the guidance of the Principal
- 2. Seema Chaudhry, Eco Club incharge received a prize in teachers category for Short Film Making by the Environment Department.
- 3. Eco club team of the school received prize in various competitions organized by the Environment and Forest Department.
- 4. NSS volunteers received prizes in the competitions organized by State NSS Wing in online and offline competitions
- 5. Eco club of the school received prize from the Forest Department, Chandigarh for making film during wildlife week.
- 6. Our students, Tanya Kashyap received third prize in short story writing competition and Devyanshi received second prize in Photography contest at National level organized by TC Central State Library, Sector 17, Chandigarh in collaboration with IDA ,RCTC MACT, ETC to mark the observation of ‘World No Tobacco Day’.
- 7. Self Defence Training was organized for the boys & girls NSS volunteers. The training was condcuted in January 2021, by the Police Department, U.T. Chandigarh.
SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS
- 1. Many students participated at national and state level in various sports activities and won prizes.
- 2. Participated in short film making competition on Wild Life Conservation and won a prize.
- 3. NSS wing of GMSSS 37B,Chd. organized the following activities on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi ji
- 4. ‘Plog Run’ by the POs and student volunteers.
- 5. ‘Swachhata Apne Dwaar se’ activity” of Swachhta from the entrance of each house.

- 7. Online activities on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti were organized such as-
- a. Students recited Gandhiji’s Bhajans,
- b. Lectures by PTA member on the topic Gandhiji in our lives.

- f. Quiz on Gandhiji “s principles and life was organized for 11th and 12th classes by NSS wing of the school.182 students participated in this quiz.
